Fifeshire Foundation Covid19 Emergency Grant Application update

In March 2020 New Zealand was effected by the world wide Covid19 (Corona Virus) pandemic crisis. On the 23rd March 2020 the prime minister Jacinda Ardern announced the country would be moving to level 4 lockdown on Wed 25th March imposing ‘the most significant restrictions on New Zealanders’ movements in modern history’ as cases rise past 100.

This initiated discussion amongst the Foundation Trustee’s and a sub committee was formed to explore options to provide support for those financially impacted by the lockdown restrictions. This along with a recent significant donation of $20 000.00 from a long term benefactor, the Covid19 Emergency fund was formed and a simplified Covid19 Emergency Grant Application Form was developed and distributed around the Nelson Tasman community, including local government agencies, NMDHB, local council, social support agencies. Also being made available as an online application.

This Covid 19 Emergency Grant immediate and essential support reaching 116 family members in our community
