The Big Give Convoy

MediaWorks and a host of local businesses are giving BIG this Christmas!
On December 17, keep an eye out for the BIG GIVE CONVOY, consisting of vehicles from The Edge, The Rock, MORE FM and The Breeze, as well as the Mike Pero Nelson Giants, Tasman Makos, and a series of First Responders making their way around the Nelson/Tasman regions.
They’re after toys, non-perishable food, and money for families known to the Fifeshire Foundation.

OR – if you’d like to make a donation before the Convoy, drop your gifts to NBS Nelson, Fifeshire House or Ray White Richmond.

Turbo's Journey ends in a $500 donation

How local businesses came together for Turbo the Snail's fundraiser
State Cinema donated this delightful Turbo the Snail for a charity auction in late 2013, but tragedy struck when Turbo was damaged and the auction was withdrawn. So Quality Paint and Panel fixed him up for free, and TNL International donated Turbo's freight to Christchurch’s Ronald McDonald House. TNL International then donated us an incredible $500 donation. Micayla Lowden, of TNL International (pictured here in The Leader's photo with Alan Martin of Quality Paint and Panel) said “We were really happy to help as we knew it’s a great cause, and the guys made Turbo look as good as new.”

Our thanks to State Cinema, TNL International, Quality Paint and Panel and the Nelson Mail for ensuring this fundraiser was such a success.

Tough Mudder team and their massive commitment to making a difference!

The T-shirts are looking nice and white but come April 26 they will be covered in mud.
The 11-strong Nelson team, Beer Guts to Glory, is pumped and ready to take part in New Zealand's first Tough Mudder event, which will be held at Hampton Downs Motor Sport Park at Te Kauwhata.

The crew at Vic Brewbar are training for a grueling 20km obstacle course,while also raising money for the Fifeshire Foundation.
The staff decided to commit to this course AND raise funds locally as well. We're impressed by the team's hard work for the April 26/27 event in Auckland, and making a difference locally at the same time.

You helped us raise $25,948!

Our thanks to all 116 players, and the 60 local businesses who donated food, refreshments and prizes.
The result? A great event, and a staggering amount raised.
